George R.R. Martin wants to write Doctor Strange

image

I don’t know what my story angle would be. The character I’d have the most fun writing would be Doctor Strange, the master of the mystic arts, he was always one of my favorites … but before I did that I’d have my lawyers meet with Marvel’s lawyers and work out an iron-clad contract that would say that whatever I did in the story would continue on forever and would never be retconned, rebooted or reimagined out of the universe when some later writer decided to mess around with it … I always hated reboots and retconns and the fact that a new writer comes in and ‘un-does’ what the previous writer did and brings dead characters back to life, kills new characters. … but I did love Doctor Strange and if I was to write a Marvel character him and his dimensions would be it.

I’d separate him off from the rest of the Marvel universe and not make him part of a team. He doesn’t really fit any of that stuff, he’s a guy that shouldn’t even be known to the rest of the heroes, living on the edge of the Marvel Universe protecting the world and our dimension and plane from dangers and forces out there that the other characters like Spider-Man and The Avengers don’t even dream exist. He’s our wall against Cthullu and the Old-Ones and the dread Dormammu. That’s when Doctor Strange was at his best, Stan Lee and Ditko were [writing] him in just that manner.

Someone please tell me why is he even thinking about writing something that is not Fire and Ice series. What is there 2 or 3 books left in the series and nevermind he still says he wants to write another Dunk and Egg book.

Plus the HBO series The Game of Thrones is going to catch up with the books in a couple of years and then what?  Oh sorry HBO I was writing Dr. Strange for marvel and oh I was also writing scripts for the show.

I have an idea why don’t you just finish the books and then you can do all those dream projects you keep talking about.

It’s pretty much that simple really, and if I was Marvel/Disney I wouldn’t go near Mr. Martin with his track record of delays issue #1 would come out let’s say this year and issue #2 won’t come out till 2020 that’s right 8 years from now just like his books what makes anyone think this would be any different.

Then last but not least he wants it so Marvel can never change his story, what company would ever let you or anyone do this.  Here is the answer NO ONE WOULD!

So Mr. Martin with all this being said my advice for you is just focus at the task at hand and finish your Fire and Ice series.

Hey look over there, that’s George W Bush severed head on a stake in the Game of Thrones

image

HBO responds
We were deeply dismayed to see this and find it unacceptable, disrespectful and in very bad taste. We made this clear to the executive producers of the series who apologized immediately for this inadvertent careless mistake. We are sorry this happened and will have it removed from any future DVD production.

And the producers, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, also issued a statement:

What happened was this: we use a lot of prosthetic body parts on the show: heads, arms, etc. We can’t afford to have these all made from scratch, especially in scenes where we need a lot of them, so we rent them in bulk. After the scene was already shot, someone pointed out that one of the heads looked like George W. Bush.

In the DVD commentary, we mentioned this, though we should not have. We meant no disrespect to the former President and apologize if anything we said or did suggested otherwise.

HBO is selling The Game of Thrones Life Size Replica Iron Throne.

image

The Game of Thrones Iron Throne is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. This custom chair is designed to mimic the seat of kings in the Seven Kingdoms. On the show, the Iron Throne was constructed by Aegon I Targaryen, the first king of the Seven Kingdoms. He made it from the swords surrendered by his enemies. Legend has it, it’s made of a thousand swords that took 59 days to hammer out into a throne. Spikes and jagged edges in every direction make this one very intimidating lounge. Our version is constructed of hand-finished, hand-painted fiberglass and fire-proof resin that’s been twisted and turned to re-create the Game of Thrones design. Now’s your chance to own this very special custom-made piece of furniture that, by all appearances, is more closely related to art. Extra large in size, it measures over 7′ in height, close to 6′ in depth and 5.5′ in width. Calling it “impressive” is an understatement

Additional Details
Dimensions:
Height: 7’2″,
Depth: 5’11″,
Width: 5’5″
Made Of:  Hand finished, hand painted fiberglass throne.
Fire rated resin.
Weight: 350 pounds

Game of Thrones pick up for third season.

image

Season 3 will span 10 episodes, which producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss say won’t be enough to cover all of the events of the third book in George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire.

Weiss:

A Storm of Swords is too long to fit in a single season. … And as readers know, A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons take place during roughly the same time frame, so we’ll have to fold those together. The plan, if we’re lucky enough tobe given the opportunity to see it through, istouse as many seasons as we need to tell the story as a whole, to do justice to George’s entire opus
