what the police saw.

Colin Farmer, 61, was stunned by police following reports of a man walking through Chorley with a samurai sword. Ch Supt Stuart Williams, of Lancashire Police, said the force had “deep regrets” and had “clearly put this man through a traumatic experience”. Mr Farmer was taken to hospital for treatment and later discharged. “It felt like I was grabbing an electricity pylon,” he said. Mr Farmer, who has suffered two strokes, said he thought he was being attacked by thugs.

He was walking to a pub to meet friends on Friday when the officer fired the Taser. It forced him to drop his stick and he fell to the ground, he said. He said the experience had left him “shaking like a leaf” and scared to go outside. The case has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission. A Lancashire Police spokesman said the incident was being investigated and the officer’s Taser had been withdrawn. ‘Extremelysorry’ Mr Williams said police had “received a number of reports that a man was walking through Chorley armed with a samurai sword”. “A description of the offender was circulated to officers and patrols were sent to look for the man,” he said. “One of the officers who arrived in Chorley believed he had located the offender. “Despite asking the man to stop, he failed to do so and the officer discharged his Taser.” Mr Williams said it “became apparent that this man was not the person we were looking for and officers attended to him straight away”, taking him to Chorley Hospital. He added that the force “deeply regrets what has happened”. “We have clearly put this man through a traumatic experience and we are extremely sorry for that,” he said. “We have launched an urgent investigation to understand what lessons can be learned.”

Zombie killed by Police in Miami was ‘eating’ face off victim

The horror began about 2 p.m. when a series of gunshots were heard on the ramp, which is along NE 13th Street, just south of The Miami Herald building.

According to police sources, a road ranger saw a naked man chewing on another man’s face and shouted on his loud speaker for him to back away.Meanwhile, a woman also saw the incident and flagged down a police officer who was in the area.

The officer, who has not been identified, approached and, seeing what was happening, also ordered the naked man to back away. When he continued the assault, the officer shot him, police sources said. The attacker failed to stop after being shot, forcing the officer to continue firing.

Investigators believe the victim may have been homeless and laying down when the crazed man pounced.

Police theorize the attacker might have been suffering from “cocaine psychosis,” a drug-induced craze that bakes the body internally and often leads the affected to strip naked to try and cool off

Police Pull Over Batman

image

Police stopped the ‘Batmobile’ driven by a man dressed as the Caped Crusader on Wednesday because his vehicle didn’t have any tags on the back — only the Batman emblem.

After verifying that the man owned the vehicle police let him off with just a warning so that he could go do good in the community. As it turns out, the super hero was on his way to visit sick children in a local hospital.

Police Caught Punching Special Needs Woman

A “special needs” homeless woman is punched in the face by a Los Angeles County Sheriff Deputy. The video was filmed by an Iraqi war veteran. Cops then tried to intimidate the man, telling him he would be arrested if he did not hand over the phone he used to record the incident.

Sheriff Lee Baca said the deputy who was captured on video striking a woman on a Metro bus will be held accountable for his actions, but stopped short of saying he should be disciplined. As many of you know, Lee Baca has denied allegations of continued beatings and mistreatment of inmates in the Los Angeles County Jail.

Brazilian police RAM small plane

To prevent the escape of suspected illegal to transport cargo to Brazil, federal police of Ribeirão Preto (314 km from Sao Paulo) threw a car of the corporation against the plane that was used by the group. With the move, the agents of PF – who filmed the moment of approach – managed to prevent the airplane takes off.

The products, which were placed in a van, probably came from Paraguay and would be marketed in the region of Ribeirao Preto, according to Federal Police

Twin Rivers Police Union T-Shirt: “U Raise ‘Em, We Cage ‘Em”

image

I would like to thank the Sacramento police department for a new t-shirt idea.

Ben DeciFOX40 News10:28 p.m. PDT, October 31, 2011

SACRAMENTO—

The union that represents Twin Rivers School District Police Officers is apologizing tonight for putting something on a T-shirt that puts the department in a bad light.
The shirt shows a terrified child, behind bars, and bears the caption : “U Raise ‘em, We Cage ‘em. [sic]”
Mean-spirited at best, and at worst, well… the ramifications are unsettling. The T-shirt, put out by the Twin Rivers Police Officer’s Association, has been rejected by even those who made it.

“We agree that it wasn’t sending the right message, and it certainly doesn’t represent the views and opinions of the men and women who work hard every day to protect the children and staff of the Twin Rivers District,” Kocher said
Kocher heads the police union. He says the shirt has been off the market for more than a year now. It was an attempt to raise money for fallen officers from other departments.
“Which was meant mostly for in-house officers,” Kocher said.
But then, one of Twin River’s own officers was shot multiple times, and the T-shirt resurfaced.
Not brought up by people looking to help, but as a way to shine a critical light on the Twin Rivers School District Police.
“I definitely think this isn’t going to help anything. And I expect people who are not supporters of us are certainly going to jump on this and try to make it into something that it’s not,” Kocher said.
While he was in the custody of another department Tyrone Smith, the suspect in that shooting, died. It was another department, but since Smith’s death, outrage from his family and community has been aimed squarely at Twin Rivers PD.
Facebook shows Twin River’s PD has a lot of supporters too.
One man posting “people don’t realize how much Twin Rivers PD does for all of us.”
Another calling them “A good group of people doing a tough job.”
Now officers are worried a bad decision in black-and-white, made by the police union months ago, will make officers’ jobs even tougher.
“The focus should be that an officer was almost killed. And somehow we’re turning it to this T-shirt that was old and we ourselves had already found to be inappropriate,”  Kocher said.
