Oh Super Bowl

For some reason this year I am just not excited about the super bowl, and before you pass judgements I am from Massachusetts, and I am just not excited this time around, don’t get me wrong I am happy that their there, but for me its just not the same.

I remember their third Super Bowl appearance 2001 (XXXVI), when the Patriots beat the Rams 20–17 , and how my dad left the room cause he couldn’t watch adam vinatieri kick the game winning field goal, and how I sat there with my buddy just screaming at the top of our lungs.  I remember his brother called us on his cell phone, just to celebrate over the phone, and how he and his best friend had to run outside so they wouldn’t tip his best friend car.

Maybe I am just jaded to all of this now, if you just stop and think about it , in the last 10 years every major sports team in Boston/New England has won their respective championship.

Boston Celtics – NBA champions 2008

New England Patriots – Super Bowl Championships 2001 (XXXVI), 2003 (XXXVIII), 2004 (XXXIX

Maybe I am just so use to all of these teams winning, and I guess I just come toexpect it to happen any given year, but at the end of the day I am glad that they are there, and I can enjoy it with my son. Granted he is 3, and I probably will be playing with action figures with him, while the game is playing on in the background, and you know what I wouldn’t have it any other way.
