THE FLYING MAN – A superhero short film.
The Flying Man is a short film envisioned, financed, produced, directed, edited and co-written by Marcus Alqueres. The short depicts the first appearances of a super powered vigilante, his impact in a modern society and its ethical discussion.
Marcus made The Flying Man in order to demonstrate his vision as he currently outlines a feature version of the script. Marcus believes that releasing it online ahead of festivals could help accessing a potential audience and measure its reception.
The short was produced under a very low budget and it was only possible due to the collaboration of friends and passionate and talented artists. With his background in visual effects, Marcus was able to accomplish around 60 vfx shots with a valuable help of another visual effects veteran João Sita (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2786833/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1) within a short period of time for nearly no money.
